Circle 9
A group of game design enthusiasts and I chose to participate in a student-created game jam. The topic ended up being "the afterlife", so we decided to get started. After a night of wrecking our minds, we settled on a hack-and-slash shooter game with the primary purpose of beating the final boss. We ended up winning first place on this game jam.Â
Gameplay
The mechanics of this game are quick and easy to understand. The player enters the lowest level of hell after causing mayhem in the overworld. Once there, they will have to endure constant attacks by demons that are rising from the icy depths until they are exhausted.
They can kill the demons using their skulls and later by finding a shotgun. They must, however, find their way to the boss gate and have enough skulls to enter before this can happen. They enter the last stage as soon as they pass through the gate. In order to get out of the cursed area, the player has to face and defeat Satan himself.
My part in the game
As one of the game's co-creators, my primary contributions were animation, modeling, and unity development. The majority of the game's objects and the map were made by me. I designed the shotgun, animated it and also implemented all of the animations myself. I also had a significant role in the game's brainstorm, design and prototyping.
